U.S. Bank Business Line Ambassador in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Business Line Ambassador function has the mandate to establish a relationship between TOS Technical Services Group and the business line (BL) and to increase the value realized from IT assets, investments, and capabilities by maximizing the effectiveness of the support the BL Receives. The Business Line Ambassador (BLA) is responsible for understanding the business, assisting in the sequencing of projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment, and directing IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy. The BLA is the liaison between TOS Technical Services Group and the business line, and a trusted advisor. As such, the BLA needs to have significant knowledge in subject matters pertaining to both TOS and the business, and must have a thorough understanding of the business to identify its needs and envisage business solutions. The BLA reports to the office of the CIO via the Technical Services Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the applications used by the BL and the impact of service interruption to US Bank.

  • Establish and maintain relationships inside the BL to ensure effective communication with stakeholders to ensure a common understanding of

  • root cause, course of action to remediate the problem, and status until resolved subsequent to a service interruption

  • strategy and roadmaps of services used by the BL

  • updates and information on changes that have the possibility to impact the BL

  • Establish and maintain relationship inside the TOS to ensure effective communication and understanding to the BL of

  • Incident Management and communication during an event

  • Problem Management and the process of identifying root cause and tracking the course of action to remediate the issues

  • Change management that could impact their BL across

  • Application/Release

  • Patching

  • Infrastructure projects and upgrades

  • Maintain currency on all changes to all policies impacting the applications and services providing support to the BL

  • Find opportunities to

  • Leverage technology to achieve business line objectives.

  • Optimize operations, applications and remove cost.

  • Assist business stakeholders in prioritizing projects inside TOS.

  • Work with stakeholders and project teams to sequence project activity to minimize impact to the BL.

  • Understand critical BL activity (example month end or major customer campaign) and ensure Change and Project processes are used to effectively communicate and protect the activity inside TOS.

  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes, and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.

  • Participate in the annual budgeting and planning process to ensure capacity requirements of BL applications and services are properly understood and communicated.

  • Track and communicate progress on all TOS AFE’s impacting the BL.

  • Have an understanding of external partners and third party service providers that impact the BL and their TOS escalation contacts

  • Have an understanding of the eBRP process to ensure proper communication and coordination when plans are invoked as well as when they are tested, whether in TOS or the BL

  • Drive Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations to enhance value to the business line.

  • Track SLA, KPI and OLA with periodic formal reporting to the BL stakeholders

  • Identify and leverage IT synergy potentials across business lines.

  • Develop recommendation for joint or coordinated application project delivery across business lines in collaboration with other BLAs.

  • Maintain awareness of BL exploration of technology purchase or third party agreements for technology to assist in navigation of the architecture and security policy and processes and ensure that the functional requirements are fully met by the solution.

  • Develop and communicate TOS innovation and awareness programs within the BL.

  • Ability to understand and communicate complex business requirements to the technology teams.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems and five years of related work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent understanding of the US Bank goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the US Bank core business processes and operations, along with the strategic use of technology to grow a bank.

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analyses, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.

  • Proven experience in IT

  • Demonstrated project portfolio management skills, including project planning, budgeting, and controlling processes, and valuing IT investments.

  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.

  • Ability to understand and communicate/present detailed and advanced business solutions.

  • Ability to communicate up and down the management chain, providing the appropriate level of detail and focus on the right information.
